Prize art for ~exiss.

She won 1st place for Pokeplatform's October contest and requested that I would draw our characters as Rapunzel and Pascal from the Disney movie "Tangled."

Though at first I wasn't sure how to go about it.

I thought perhaps a cheesy pose of them together, just wearing the clothing.

Lame.

So then I decided I could draw them playing hide and seek.
You know? Where Pascal disguises himself as the flower pot:

Exiss' submission was brilliant. Why not en cooperate it into the prize art?!

I took the basic idea of this scene of the movie:

And applied it to Calla's faint attack.

Originally- Rapunzel!Steevi was going to be wielding her frying pan. But I had a lot of trouble drawing it.
So no frying pan.

I also wanted to actually do a legit background for this...
But I'm terrible at backgrounds. And just drawing the characters itself was so tedious.
I had a harder time drawing Steevi than I did Calla!
(Hence why she has much less detail)

Though I didn't get a very good background in this... I did attempt a new style of shading.
I did a lot of soft brushes and gradients for this.
I may have abused of the gradient tool a little.

I also don't like that I did multiple layers of Steevi's hair...
I know Rapunzel's hair is supposed to be one long strand,
since she can't really cut it...
But I have an unhealthy obsession with drawing hair on the floor.
Even though I'm not too good at it.
_{I like drawing hair.}

Over all appeal... I'm pretty happy with it.
It could've been better...
But I'm satisfied for now.
(or maybe just frustrated and no longer wish to work on this.)
